A Closer Look at the Bodycon Trend
Posted on 23 March 2017
Bodycon dresses and jumpsuits have been on the fashion radar for a while now. Hitting the runways in the form of Hervé Léger’s bandage dress and popularized by celebrities including the Kardashians, this figure-hugging, fitted look is going nowhere.
For obvious reasons, the bodycon style is generally reserved for girls who exude sexy confidence – that’ll be the way it hugs your curves, enhances your assets and gives you a whole lot of va-va-voom!
Here at WhatWears we are big fans of the bodycon look – and our bodycon products are currently our most popular, but what are your options if you’re a newcomer to fitted clothing? Let’s take a look.
For the ultimate hourglass figure, Bodycon dresses give you immediate curves. A bodycon dress will hug you close and is cut so that it fits you tightly from the neckline to the hem. Whether you go for a long bodycon dress, a mid-length bodycon dress, or a hot little mini version is up to you. Similarly, choosing to go for a classic black LBD is an option – so is sparkling in the ultimate party dress - like our one below!
Bodycon jumpsuits and playsuits
Encompassing two trends in one – the bodycon silhouette and the all-in-one pant suit- this is a fab way to show off your style chops. Cover up and let your figure do the talking or show off some skin with a jumpsuit with sexy cut out sections. If you want to show off your legs, a fitted playsuit works well with high top trainers, just as an evening jumpsuit works with killer heels for a night out.
Going for a bodycon top is a great way to try the trend without committing to the full look. If you’re not over keen on your legs, bodycon tops will still let you show off some curves when you match it with a pair of looser fitting pants or a maxi skirt. For full on sporty sexy choose a cropped bodycon top, or play it down with a longer length that accentuates your waist without baring too much flesh.
What do you think? Are you a bodycon trend fan – or is it all a bit on the tight side for you?!
